What is to win? It’s to finish first in a race,
contest, or the like. Majority of those who join network marketing want to win.
If you are reading this, and you are already part of network marketing, then
you really want to win. Some may argue that winning is relative. However, the
winning we’ll focus on in this article is getting to stand and be recognized by
your company before thousands of other distributors. It is excelling through
the ranks in your organization to attain huge financial success. So, how can
you position yourself to win in network marketing?
WHAT IS NETWORK MARKETING?
Definition first. I learnt this from some of
Tim Sales’ writings. Often, people don’t know what it is that we are talking
about; even though they think they understand what the word means. Network
marketing refers to the marketing of products and/or services through a network
of distributors that is ever expanding and/or increasing in its productivity.
There are three things to catch in the definition of what it is we do. First,
we join to use the products and/or services for ourselves. Next, we go out to
market these products so others can buy them; and also join us in the distribution
of these products. This is the building of a network by sponsoring others into
the business. Then, we ensure that this team attains highly through proper
It all begins with you. How much of
yourself are you willing to pour into the business? How many hours can you
commit to the business on a weekly basis in driving this financial vehicle
towards your destination? How many months would you be willing to be persistent
and consistent on this journey? Will you order the products consistently for your
own usage? Will you work on yourself till you make it? How often are you doing
some self-inventory? The only way others will come to be part of what you do is
when you are burning hot enough for them to notice the flames. In network
marketing, it all starts with you. Success or failure is ultimately up to you.
The second important thing in stirring your
life to win in network marketing is getting others involved. It takes teamwork
to do dreamwork. The reason you came first is that in life, who you attract is
not determined by what you want. It’s determined by who you are. The better
leader you are, the better leaders you will attract. If you’ve built a team
before, you will find that most of those you attracted had attributes similar
to yours. What values do you hold as a person? People are attracted to those
whose values are similar to their own. We attract – and are attracted to –
others of similar background. You will attract people with energy levels similar
to yours. In a nutshell, building a team to win with will come back to who you
Lastly, we must increase the productivity
of this team. Sponsoring people into your business doesn’t guarantee a win.
What does guarantee are the things you do with this team. It could be something
in your training. How do you associate with your team? Do you have their best
interests at heart? Do they know that you do? On a scale of 1 to 10, how would
you rate yourself as a leader? In one of his books, John C. Maxwell shares that
leadership ability is what will ultimately determine a person’s level of
effectiveness. The higher we want to climb, the more we need leadership.
In summary, I’ve expounded three things
that dominate our journey to winning in our industry. You may not be good at
these three things. So what? None of us was born with these skills. Skills are
simply developed. The proof that you too can master them is the fact that
others mastered them; and won in their network marketing companies. Looking closely
at this article, you realize that success or failure in your network marketing
